Annoying little furball with a stupid lisp...

As I sit here catching up on e-mails while the boys watch Sesame Street, I feel the need to say - I HATE Baby Bear.  That's all.

Um no, Bear in the Big Blue House is worse!

I would disagree, even though we don't have cable and I haven't watched that show, but because I hate, loath, cringe at baby bear because of that lisp. Why can't kid shows just have normal average kids? They don't have to throw in a lisp, ethnic, spanish speaking, mobilely challenged character.

Come on TV.

Ha. Bryce you're funny. I don't watch Sesame Street very often so I can't comment on Baby Bear (though I will look on YouTube) but I have big issues with Handy Manny because (a) They have to be all bilingual like Dorah, but especially because (b) All the white characters are stupid. The old idiotic middl-aged single man who owns the candy shop, Sherman, is well, portrayed as idiotic, old, and can't do anything for himself. And the other white character? Kelly the girl who owns the hardware store? Totally a lesbian.

But maybe it's just me.

I am SO GLAD I am not the only one who can't stand Baby Bear, I mean our kids are barely learning to talk when they watch the show and this is the example they see? A lisper? Stupid.

And Keith and I were JUST talking about Handy Manny this weekend, and how horrible the characters are, the stupid Mr, Lopehart that tries and fails to do everything himself, arg! And I can totally see the lesbian thing, though I never even thought of it that way till now.

Mr. Lopehart! That's his name. And Sherman is the shoe store guy, but totally the same deal there. Tall geeky white guy who doesn't know how to run his business.

Okay I'll stop now!

Ditto to all of the above. After Megan watches Baby Bear or Handy Manny or the annoying singing Wonder Pets (now that'll really grate on your nerves) she starts mimicking the voices. Just what I need around here...a PC lisping, ethnic song. But think back...I'm pretty sure the Smurf voices drove our parents crazy.

I feel that way about Annie's singing voice on Little Einstein's. It's like the shrieking eels!

Just read the lesbian bit... I always thought Manny and Kelly had an unspoken affection for one another! Although I have been accused of having zero gaydar! :)

I've never watched Handy Manny... I need to get in on this lesbian/secret love action.

Did not mean that as dirty as it sounds!
